BIO
Anthony Cahill

Anthony Cahill has been a practicing artist exhibiting in commercial and public galleries in Australia and abroad since 1982. His work explores absurdist notions around the representation of landscape and a human relationship with it. Cahill’s images are derived initially through direct observation; although he will mash up images from various sources, including from social media to arrive at a subject to paint, He works without concern for any formal boundaries between figuration and abstraction. Cahill enjoys exploring notions of living in a seemingly absurd world and his working method is intuitive and improvisational.

His work is in private and public collections in Australia and Europe.
