BIO
Jo Langley

I studied painting, drawing, photography and printmaking at Alexander Mackie College in Sydney. I have worked in education, graphic design and illustration. 

My home in the beautiful Blue Mountains west of Sydney inspires me. Since relocating to Blackheath in 2013, I have exhibited in galleries in the Blue Mountains and Central West. I have been selected as a finalist in prominent art prizes.

In recent years, I have been further developing my visual language in abstract and semi-abstract genres. I work with acrylics on canvas and panel, as well as with acrylic, gouache, collage, oil crayon and oil stick on paper.

I value the process of creating an artwork equally with the end result – to trust that my personal history is playing out in the moment as I work, while enjoying a sense of resolution in its final realisation.
