Chasing Ataraxia Nov 25

This body of work is born from fragments of memory — old film photographs from my childhood on the shores of the Black Sea in the 90’s. I return to those days of togetherness and peace: bikinis, the gentle lapping sound of the waves, home cooked food spread on a blanket and the sea shimmering like glass in the golden light.

Through these images, I celebrate the simple, radiant beauty of life — its colors, its chaos, its tenderness. Each piece is a love letter to Odessa and its beaches; a place where joy felt effortless and every day shimmered with possibility.

Nastia Gladushchenko

A mural artist and painter living and working in Katoomba. Her work examines the relationship between humans and the plant world and she uses botanical imagery to remind us of the importance of our connection to the natural environment and to each other.

With a background in Interior Architecture, exploring the way our environments affect our bodies and minds is of strong interest to her and by creating pieces featuring imagery of oversized botanicals, she hopes to transport people to a place between a playground and a meditative space.

As well as running a personal art practice, she’s interested in creating pieces for and with the community to allow them to access art and to experience its’ benefits in public spaces.
