Rachel Hannan

Rachel Hannan was born in 1971 overlooking Newcastle Beach, NSW.

After completing her Fine Arts Degree at Newcastle University in 1992 with a High Distinction in Painting Rachel directed her energies towards the performing arts where she began her successful career as a jazz vocalist and recording artist and has been teaching vocals since 1996.

Rachel maintained her art practice through one-off wearable art pieces, sculptural light fittings and handmade painted jewellery.
In 2008 Rachel returned to the studio and oil painting with a renewed freedom and a relaxed, less analytical approach.

In 2013 Rachel began working as an Expressive Arts Therapist and Counsellor both privately and at Gateway Family Services, Blaxland and Katoomba NSW.
She has recently started working with ceramics.
