Tom Garrett (Thomas Balfour) 1879-1952
BIO
Studies Hutchins School, Hobart. He Moved to Melbourne in 1900 and studied as a minister until about 1929 when he became a professional painter, producing large numbers of small jewel-like blue and green monotypes that recalled often the romantic watercolours of J.J. Hilder. He exhibited with the Royal Artist Society of NSW, and at various group exhibitions and in solo exhibitions in various cities, notably in Melbourne at Kozminsky Galleries.
