I began this work when Australia first went into lockdown in March. It was the beginning of the nightmare more widely known as Covid 19. Post bushfires from hell, myself like most Australians thought the trauma of the summers events was well over, little realising that the far reaching shadow of another menace loomed. Reports by journalists of increased world cases, lockdowns, and inevitable deaths pervaded the newly found tranquility and left many feeling uneasy about the future. Then Australia too was thrust into lockdown. In the darkness of this time, I looked to mother nature for solace and found comfort in her willing embrace. It then became apparent to me that I was not alone. My daily meandering about my local nature reserve,  which in different times was scarce of human traffic, saw an increase in individuals exploring the beautiful mountain. Young and old alike, all can and many have found succour in nature, for it is here that ones roots are set out. It is sad to think however, that there are still so many who overlook the wonders of nature, taking for granted our worlds greatest treasure.

Seeking solace represents a little nook on the foothills of Mount Majura, where my heart  forever belongs and flourishes.
