I use found objects in my art works and try not to dilute the age, history and patina of the bits. Used materials relate to human presence, a fingerprint of personal histories.
Discarded objects can be reinvented, revived for new stories about our connection to all things – nothing is unrelatable. I am inspired by Doris Salcedo who writes – ‘I work with materials that are already charged with significance, with meaning acquired in the practice of everyday life’.
