In 1930 William Ashton and Norman Lloyd travelled to Spain and Morocco. This painting of Fes, the city of temples was likely painted during this trip.
A great example of an Australian abroad, painting in a modernist style.
In good condition, housed in a period gilt frame.

Many of his works depict the Harbour of Sydney and France, Spain and Africa.
