To awake upon the dawn and be greeted by the gentle drip drop of the rain on the front porch roof and to witness the garden refreshed and sparkling with a million jewel like rain drops, is a joy both simple yet beyond compare. After the onslaught of a blistering hot day and the proceeding sleepless night of discomfort, a morning storm brings with it, a new hope. The high pitch staccato of the eastern Spinebill, as he hovers from one purple salvia to another, too tells of his happiness in the change of weather. It is after all, the simple pleasures that makes life worth living.
